Nanit

Companion app for the Nanit camera ($150-300). Watches your baby sleep and analyzes duration, quality, and patterns using computer vision - nothing strapped to their wrist or chest. Live HD video, two-way audio, temperature, humidity, white noise built in. Free: live view and basic alerts. Insights ($100/yr) adds sleep analytics, video history, milestones. Expensive stack - camera plus subscription. But if sleep data matters to you more than price, Nanit's analytics are in a different league from Huckleberry or any software-only tracker.

Nanit is a smart baby monitor first and a sleep tracker second. The camera sits above the crib and uses computer vision to detect sleep patterns - when your baby fell asleep, how long, how many wake-ups, sleep quality score. No wearable required.

The app shows live HD video, sends sound and motion alerts, lets you talk through two-way audio, plays white noise, and monitors room temperature and humidity.

Without a subscription, you get live streaming and basic notifications - perfectly functional as a regular monitor. The Insights subscription ($100/year for the base Sleep plan) unlocks the analytics: sleep trends, tips, video history. Higher tiers (Memories, Milestones) add longer video storage and developmental tracking.

The total investment is real: $150-300 for hardware plus $100/year. Compare that to Huckleberry ($59-130/year, software only) or Owlet Dream (similar hardware model). Nanit wins on sleep data depth but loses on price.
